In More Than 20 Days of Fighting, 26 Civilians Killed and 32 Wounded in Kyaukme
Yesterday on July 17, at 10:30 p.m., the Terror Military Council made an aerial bombing in Kyaukme.
Due to these bombardments, the bombs dropped at Pan Paung Village, Zaw Ti Gone Village, and Nam Hu Taung Village, damaged civilian houses. The civilian casualty was not yet confirmed.
On July 12, at 8:00 a.m., two local children, one woman, and two men were injured due to artillery shelling.
A woman who knows the incident said, “The wound of the woman from Pain Hne Gone was serious. It is said her leg would be amputated. She was injured in her left leg. One day before, an artillery shell dropped in the Ward. I was sitting and having meals and there was only a wall between the explosion and me. My ears were ringing. The house got a hole from the roof to the bottom.”
Similarly, on July 13, at around 3 p.m., a large weaponry shell exploded in the Pain Hne Gone neighborhood, injuring one (1) woman and damaging her house, according to charity organizations.
On July 15, a heavy weaponry shell exploded in Gorkha’s house in Pan Paung village, killing 1 woman after hitting her neck, 1 Muslim man and 1 woman were injured in the legs and hands. According to the Charitable Associations, they were being treated at the Yan Kin Monastery.
A White Heart Charity Association member said, “We are helping and rescuing the patients from Kyauk Me, and all the patients who come to us are being treated at Yankin Monastery. On the other day, 4 people died in Pan Paung village. One was hit on the arm, the leg of another one was crushed as well as hit on the thigh. A woman was injured in her stomach. Another child was injured on the head. He was a young boy. The fighting is still going on.”
On July 16, when members of a family, who moved to Kho Mung village from Ti Lin Ward 9 were cooking in front of the house and am artillery shell exploded, killing all 3 members of the family including little sone on the spot, according to a female resident from Ti Lin Ward.
According to the list documented by Ta’ang Women’s Organization from June 25 to July 18, 26 people were killed and 32 injured in Kyaukme.
