Airstrike Bombing at Hsipaw Kills 2 Civilians and Injures Another 5

The Terror Military Council dropped four 250-pound bombs on the Taungmyo Ward in Hsipaw Township on July 14, at 5:57 p.m..

The bombing killed two local men and injured five others.

Ko Shwe Hlaing, 30, (hairdresser) and one local man were killed, and one local woman and four men were injured. (Detailed profiles of the injured are yet to be documented.)

In addition, the house of Ko Myo (member of the Charity Without Borders), the Star Phone Shop of Ko Kyaw Kyaw, the house of Lakch Mee, the barber shop of Ko Shwe Hlaing, and the Hsipaw phone shop of Ko Chan Nyein Htwe were damaged.

Ta’ang Women’s Organization (TWO) was established in Mae Sot, Thailand, in 2000, under the name ‘Palaung Women’s Organization’ (PWO). At the time, women were not actively participating in other Ta’ang organizations due to widely held misconceptions about women’s unsuitability that restricted their access to training, education, skills-building, and leadership roles.
