September 4, 2025

On the morning of September 4, at 10:46 am, the Kyaukme Pankwan Village was airstrike-bombed by the Terror Military Council, according to a resident.

A local man said, “The pagoda hill was hit. There is a monastery behind the pagoda. The bomb hit the monastery. In fact, they might want to hit the monastery. As the pagoda is in front, the monastery is hidden. There were about 4 pagodas, and one of them was destroyed. One fell on this side of the brick wall on one side, and the other fell on the right side. The bomb is estimated to be about 120 pounds.”

The shrapnel of the bomb hit 4 pagodas and the monastery in Pankwuan Village, damaging windows and the glass doors, but there were no civilian or house injuries, a man with knowledge of the incident added.

The Terror Military Council has been targeting monasteries in rural areas with airstrike-bombing this month.

On August 23, the monastery in Kwan Salan Village, Mong Ngao Township (Subdistrict), Kyaukme District, and on the night of August 29, the monastery in Pan Tha Pyay Village, Nam Khone Group, Mong Lon Township (Subdistrict), were bombed without any fighting, resulting in the deaths of one monk, one nun and one woman, and the injury of eight residents and five monks. TWO has received information that the monastery, the Dhamma hall, the nunnery, the Sala, and the 14 houses were damaged.
