Namtu’s Pobbar Yon Monastery Bombed Again by Terror Military Council

October 7, at 6:30 a.m., the Terror Military Council targeted the Pobbar Yon Monastery in Namtu, damaging almost all of the monastery buildings.

The Pobbar Yon Monastery, located in Ward 8 of Namtu, and controlled by the Ta’ang  National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA), was reportedly bombed without any provocation.

A local woman in Namtu told TWO: “They specifically targeted the monastery this time. They targeted it the other day, but they missed it and today they returned. The monks and other novices avoided the area, so no one was hurt. The monastery buildings are now unusable.

According to an investigation, on the full moon day of Thadingyut, on October 6, an unprovoked bomb attack was carried out in Ward 2 of Central Namtu, damaging at least six houses and slightly injuring one local man and one woman.

Since October 2, a bomb attack has been carried out in Ward 8 of Namtu, killing four locals and injuring six others.

Following the bomb attack in Namtu, telephone operators were cut off, and residents are still seeking shelter in safe areas.
