7 Locals, Including 2 Childrens, Killed; 8 Injured in Mong Meik Airstrike Bombing by the Terror Military Council
Seven locals, including two childrens, were killed and eight others injured in an airstrike bombing by the TerrorMilitary Council on Waepaung village in Thit Seint Kone village tract of Mongmeik Township, an area controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA).
On October 9, at 6:30 p.m., the Terror Military Council reportedly dropped three 250-pound bombs on Waepaung village, where no fighting was ongoing, according to a local man from Momeik.

“It was around 7 p.m. when they dropped three bombs. Seven people were killed, including two children, eight were injured, and 10 houses were destroyed,” he said.
The man specified that three women and four men were killed, and the attack also damaged 10 civilian houses in addition to the eight injuries.
The TNLA reported that on October 10, at 1:30 p.m., the Military Council dropped another 250-pound bomb and fired six rocket launchers from a jet fighter.
According to records collected by the Ta’ang Women’s Organization (TWO), from October 1 to October 10, there were 26 deaths and 35 injuries from airstrike bombings in Mogok, Mongmeik, Kyaukme, Hsipaw, Namtu, Mangton, and Namsan townships, where no clashes were reported.
