Two Children And A Woman Injured in A Drone Bomb Blast in Kutkai

Two children and a woman were injured in a drone bomb explosion in the compound of the Ta’ang Women’s Affairs Office in Ward 2, Kutkai Township, northern Shan State.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:00 p.m. on March 25, 2026. A family gathering firewood in the compound discovered an unexploded drone bomb. The explosion was triggered when one of the children picked up the device and threw it.

A woman told the Ta’ang Women’s Organization, “They were collecting firewood in the compound. Unfortunately, an unexploded remnant of a bomb dropped during a previous attack was still there. Daw Aye Shwe went to pick it up, and the children also took turns handling it. The explosion occurred as soon as one of the children threw the device.”

The blast injured 63-year-old Daw Aye Shwe, who sustained a back injury. Ten-year-old Su Kalaya suffered an injury to her left hip, while 13-year-old Maung Naing Min Tun sustained serious injuries to both legs.

Maung Naing Min Tun is currently receiving urgent medical treatment at Hsenwi Hospital due to the severity of his leg injuries.
