Airstrike Bomb Shelling Attack in the Crowded Area of Kyaukme Downtown Kills 4, Injures 4

Today, June 24, at around 5 pm, the Terror Military Council reportedly carried out an airstrike near a mosque in Ward 3 and a restaurant in Ward 4 in the downtown area in Kyaukme.

The airstrike killed two men and two women, injured four civilians, and damaged more than 10 civilian homes, according to the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).

A resident of Kyaukme said, “Right now, people are not allowed to enter the area where the bombs were dropped, the area where the weapons were dropped. The area near the mosque is not a place where any group lives. It is right in the center of the city, in Ward 3. Some people said one died, some said 4-5 people were killed, but we can’t confirm it yet. It is also a civilian house near the Sanpya restaurant. We don’t know if it hit the Sanpya house directly, but they didn’t let us see.”

The military council has carried out eight airstrikes bombing in Kyaukme without any fighting. On January 13, near the toll gate outside the town, and on the 25th, a jet fighter targeted the Kyaukme Public Hospital, killing two health workers working at the hospital.

On January 27, a man was killed and two women were injured in an airstrike bombing on a public house in Ward 2 of Kyaukme, and civilian homes were damaged.

The Terror Military Council airstrike bombed 3 times in Kyaukme, once in March and twice in May.

On November 30, 2024, at around 6:00 PM, the Military Council of Terror also airstrike bombed the Inkyintaung neighborhood, killing 7 civilians, seriously injuring 14 others, and damaging at least 17 homes.
