Airstrike Again in Kyaukme by the Military Council, Injures 6 civilians and Damages Many 

At 2:33 p.m. today on June 29, Kyaukme town was bombed again by the Terror Military Council.

A man in Kyaukme said that the bomb was dropped near the Kanbawza Shan Monastery in Ward 1 of Kyaukme town, causing civilian casualties and damaging many civilian homes.

“People were injured. Three people were hit at the Sai Yazar Phone Shop. The bomb shrapnel spread and hit 2 people. A woman from Paukgone, and another man from Oakkyin were injured. The bomb dropped at the general administrative office,” he said.

The bomb attack hit 3 women at the Sai Yazar Phone Shop on Panglong Road, causing head, right chestinjuries and bruises. As a result of the incident, a woman who was walking along the road from Paukgone was injured in the hip by the bomb shrapnel, and a man from Oakkyin Ward 1 was hit and his finger was severed.

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) said two 250-pound bombs were dropped on a civilian area. And, civilian homes, some buildings at the Kambawza Shan Monastery, a shop, a telephone shop, and a generaladministrative office were damaged, and two women and four men were injured. 

The Ta’ang Women’s Organization will continue to investigate the details of the civilian casualties.

Another local woman said, “Many houses were hit. I was there yesterday. We were running. I heard from others that some informers were reporting to the military. I heard that there are more bombs to be dropped. I went to see the area immediately after the bomb blast, but I couldn’t get close enough to see them.”

Kyaukme was hit once on June 24 near the mosque in Ward 3 and once at the Sanpya Restaurant in Ward 4; once in the early morning of June 27 at the Myauk Gone Construction Office in Ward 7. Today, on the 29th, it was the third bombing in a month. The total of three bombings killed 5 locals and injuring 19 others.
