The Terror Military Council Airstrike-bombs Kyaukme, 2 novices and 1 civilian injured, many houses destroyed

Kyaukme, controlled by  Ta’ang National Liberation Army- PSLF/TNLA, was bombed by the terror military council, investigation revealed. 

Today, at 11:15 am on August 25, the terror military council dropped 2 bombs from the air on Painnegone village, Mankyaung village tract, Kyaukme township, resulting in damage to some of the Waso monastery premises in Painnegone village, and the injury of 2 monks and 1 man.

A man in Kyaukme who was aware of the incident told TWO, “This morning, two 500-pound bombs dropped. One landed beside the monastery’s fence, and the other one was right next to the fence, but it fell on the side where the houses were, so it hit a lot of houses.”

The bombing left 12-year-old Ashin Kuthala with injuries to his right hand and head, 15-year-old Ashin Eitharyanay with injuries to his right hand, and 44-year-old U Ye Myat Htun with injuries to his right hand from shrapnel.

In addition, 23 civilian homes were destroyed, and the elementary school building, monastery building, Dhamma Hall and alms house in Painnegone village were damaged.

On August 23, an airstrike by the Myanmar Air Force on a monastery in Kwan Salan Village, Mong NgaoTownship (Subdistrict) killed three monks and four civilians, injured a 12-year-old child, and damaged the monastery, a clinic, a library, and 10 homes.

The Terror Military Council has been repeatedly targeting the monastery buildings.
