A Local Man Shot Dead by the Military Council
In the Naung Pain Village Tract, Kyaukme Township, where fighting is raging between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Terror Military Council, the Military Council troops shot and killed 3 civilians, killing 1 and injuring 2.
In the incident, at 10 am on August 23, a family member was shot dead, and two women were injured inside a house where the displaced persons were staying in Naung Pein Village.
The victim, Daw Ni Ni said, “I was shot while I was inside the house. I don’t know how many shots the militaryfired at the Ta’ang Army. My husband was shot dead on the spot. I got a big hole in my left leg. It hit the bone and I have a steel rod inserted. I have been in the hospital for a month. If the wound doesn’t heal, I won’t be able to leave the hospital. My daughter has an injury on her left hand. She is also receiving medication.”

The three people who were shot were members of a family. The deceased, U Sai Lun, 43, is the husband of Daw Ni Ni, 45, and Ma Su Sandi Lun, 17, is their daughter. They had fled the war to Naung Pein village via Zee Pin village.
Currently, they are still receiving treatment at Pyin Oo Lwin Hospital and are struggling to pay for medical expenses and food, they told TWO.
