Kyaukme: Pan Tha Pyay Village Monastery Targeted for Second Time

Kyaukme, September 27, 2025

The Terror Military Council has reportedly targeted Pan Tha Pyay Village, located in the Pan Kwan Group, Kyaukme Township, which is controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA), for the second time.

At 4 p.m. today, a 500-pound bomb was reportedly dropped on the village’s main monastery without any prior fighting taking place in the area.

Another villager stated, “The monastery was hit, but not with full force; however, the houses near the monastery were heavily damaged. Their roofs were blown off. When the bomb was dropped, the monks were out collecting donations. They were out, and the monks were visiting the other village (Pang Phyet Village).”

The bombing reportedly damaged 20 houses around the monastery. A detailed damage estimate will be investigated.

A man from Kyaukme said, “Today, Kyaukme was hit twice. When we were halfway back from Kyaukme, we heard that the strike was behind the hill and at the junction of Kyein Chan Yay hill, but people said it was outside the field. When I got back to Loi Kone, they hit Pan Tha Pyay twice.”

The village had been targeted previously. On September 4, the first bomb attack took place on the same day at Zedi Kone in Pang Kwan Village and Pan Tha Pyay Village, injuring a woman from the village and damaging the Zedi Kone (stupa), a school, and some houses.
