Woman Killed by Drone Strike Amid Clashes Between TNLA and MNDAA in Kutkai
A local woman died after being struck by shrapnel from an MNDAA drone attack during clashes between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) in Ho Kyant Village, Kutkai Township, northern Shan State.
The incident occurred at around 9:00 AM on March 15, 2026, when a drone deployed by the MNDAA dropped explosive ordnance near the victim’s home, killing Daw Yar Mar Khin.
“At the time, Yar Mar Khin was inside her kitchen,” a resident told the Ta’ang Women’s Organization (TWO). “The drone bomb landed near her front gate, and shrapnel struck her in the back. Her family initially took her to Zewaka Maung Hospital, but she was referred to Hsenwi Hospital for further treatment.”
However, while en route to Hsenwi Hospital, the vehicle transporting her was delayed at an MNDAA checkpoint near the base of Mount Loi Sam Sip. Due to the prolonged interrogation, she succumbed to her injuries before reaching the hospital.
