A Local Woman from Monglon Township Killed by Heavy Weaponry Fired from a Jet Plane
A local woman was hit and killed by a jet bomb from the Terror Military Council after 11:00 pm on June 24 at Pain Inn Village, Taungni Village Tract, Monglon Sub-Township.
A local from Taungni Village Tract said, “Pain In incident was actually happened. It is a village from our village tract. One killed last night due to bomb drop. Currently, people don’t dare to live in the village, fleeing to the farms.”
The deceased was Daw Than Shwe, a mother of 3 children from Paing Inn village. When a bomb’s shrapnel hit her thigh and there was no one to save her immediately, she bled to death for an hour. In addition, an over 50-year-old woman, Daw Ya Moon was also injured when the shrapnel hit the tin roof of her house and fell down on her face, a local Paing Inn resident who does not want to reveal name told Ta’ang Women’s Organization.
On June 19, at 3:30 p.m., 2 houses, a school, and the village clinic were destroyed by aerial bombing by the terror military council in Taungni village, Monglon township. In addition, a woman from a refugee family, who moved from Mogok Township to Taungni Village was hit by a heavy weaponry and killed. Furthur more, a 12-year-old boy from Taungni Village, Lway Lin, is still being treated for a head injury.
A village leader from Taungni village said, “They were Internally Displaced Persons. They had been staying in the village for a few days. They are Burmans. The woman was educated so she help teaching at the school. When she was in the toilet, she was hit by aerial bombing. Now, their family had moved to other area.”
At about 6 o’clock in the morning today (June 25), fighting broke out between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Terror Military Council in Kyaukme.
