Seven Civilians, Including a Monk, Killed; 14 Others Injured in Aerial Bombardment at Kyaukme

Seven civilians, including a child and a monk, were killed, and more than 14 people were seriously injured in a 500-pound bomb aerial attack by the Terror Military Council at 6:30 p.m., on November 30 at Kyaukme, which is under the control of  the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). 

A Kyaukme resident said, “It was said there were two bombs. I didn’t count the number of houses. As I went to see, there were more than 10; about 13-14 houses were damaged. When I saw, there were about 5 bodies. The other 4 bodies were not yet found. There were too many patients, and they were referred to Lashio hospital. Among the deaths, a girl under 18 was found, just an adolescent. Many are Ta’ang people, 70 out of 100.”.

The people killed are: Nang Kham Aye (17), Daw Aye Mon (50), U Sai Hla Htay (57), Nang Aye Mon (50), Daw Khine Meh Muu (70), Ko Aik Htoo (50) and the monk Nandasami from Aung Suu Pan teaching monastery. 

The injured were Daw Mya Thida, Daw Mya Win, Shane Htet Naing, Ko Hla Shwe, Daw Naing Kyar, Ko Aik Thein, Ma Aye Maw, Ko Aik Htay, U Aik San, Sai Mueng Li, Nang Kham Li, Daw Aye Saung, Daw Aye Lao, and Khine Yati Htun and the injured were sent to hospital for treatment. 

In addition, 17 civilian houses, including the Inngyin teaching monastery, were damaged. 

The Terror Military Council frequently launches aerial bombardments at Mogok, Kyaukme, Mung Ngao (sub)Township, Kutkai, Nam Kham which are under control of Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and Naungkhio where active fighting continues.
