A Man in Nawngkhio Township Injured After Stepping on a Landmine.
A local woman reported that a man in Taung Shay village, Nawngkhio Township, Northern Shan State, was injured after stepping on a landmine, which resulted in the loss of his left leg and injuries to his face.
U Min Aung stepped on the landmine while volunteering at the village monastery at around 5 p.m. on October 7.
A local woman told the Ta’ang Women’s Organization, “He was volunteering on that day. Only him was hit. The monk called only the men. He was the one who was hit by the landmine. The monk called the men and made them work. While we were avoiding the fighting, soldiers came. I don’t know which group.”
Similarly, on September 13, a man stepped on a landmine while volunteering at the Naung Lin village school in Naung Cho Township, losing his right leg and his sight.
