Two Civilians Killed and One Injured During Nawngkhio Battle

Two local women were killed during the fighting between Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the Terror Military Council at Nawngkhio Township.

Two women, 23-year-old Ma Cherry Htein and 16-year-old Ma Htet Yee Win, who lived at Ward 4, Nawngkhio, were found dead with gunshot wounds in the evening of June 26, said a local resident who doesn’t want to be named.

Similarly, 27-year-old Ko Kyaw Nanda Oo, who lived Ward Numbe 4 of Nawngkhio, lost one of his legs due to heavy weaponry shelling on the evening of June 25 and has been receiving treatment at Pyin Oo Lwin since then.

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and Mandalay PDF forced have been jointly attacking Nawngkhio and heavy weaponry shelling destroyed some civilian houses. Detailed data is still being collected.
