Four Locals Injured due to a Landmine while Looking for a Lost Child at Nawngkhio, Two More Injured from an Aerial Bomb and a Heavy Weapon Shell
Six locals were injured due to a mine with rope and a heavy artillery shell at Nawngkhio, which is under the control of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in northern Shan State.
On June 10, people hit the rope mine while looking for a lost child. at a moving farm near Kan Gyi Letpan Gone Village, Nawngkhio Township.
A woman who knows the incident said, “They hit a rope mine, it is said. They were looking for a lost child. They were injured at a hill farm. It was about half an hour from the village. They hit while looking for the child. All four were injured at their legs.”
Locals affected by the landmine include Ko Yan Aung, 34, from Kangyi Letpangone Village, Naungkhio Township, who was injured in both his left and right legs. His missing son, Amaung Zwe Htet Aung, 9, was wounded in his right leg, and Maung Kyaw San Htoo from Shwedone Village was also wounded in his right leg.

In addition, on June 11, Daw Sandar Aung, 43, from Lonkwe Village, Nawngkhio Township, was injured by an aerial bomb at her left hand and waist. And, Ko Maung Aung Kyaw Min, 52, was injured at his abdomen by shrapnel from a heavy weapon shot by an unknown armed group.
As the injury of Daw Sandar Aung, who was hit by the aerial bomb, was serious, she was getting treated at another hospital run by the Kokang Army (MNDAA).
