A Man’s leg Cut Off After Stepping on a Landmine While Going to the Farm
A man in Nam Saung Hu village, Nawngkhio township, was injured when he stepped on a landmine while walking in a cornfield near his home after fleeing from fighting.
He stepped on a landmine while walking in the cornfield near his home at 10:30 a.m. on July 29, and one of his legs had to be amputated.
“He still hasn’t been discharged from the hospital. I think it will be a long time. The doctor also told me that the sex organ of my husband will also have to be cut off,” the victim’s wife told the Ta’ang Women’s Association.
The injured man, U Myo Myint Aung, 40, has his left leg amputated and a metal ring inserted into his left little finger. His sex organ and his right foot were also wounded. He is currently receiving treatment at Pyin Oo Lwin 300-bed hospital, where he is still undergoing his fourth surgery.
