3 Children Killed, 12 Injured in Mogok Bombing by the Terror Military Council

Three children were killed and 12 people were injured in a bombing attack by the Terror Military Council on Mogok, a town controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA).

At around 3 PM on October 21, a source with knowledge of the incident said that two 250-pound bombs were dropped on Kandaw Ward, Shawli Circle Group, east of Mogok.

“Two 250-pound bombs were dropped. They landed on the futsal field near the Ngasue Pagoda and the Shan monastery. The children playing football were hit. Three people were killed. The three deceased were children, and 12 were injured. There were also children among the injured,” the source told TWO (Ta’ang Women’s Organization).

The bombing killed 10-year-old Ma Khu Shi, 12-year-old Ma Mon Bu, and 6-year-old Ma Sithal.

The injured were identified as: Ko Kanchar (50), Maung Hein Min Thant (12), Ma Hla Thandar Aye (38), Daw Gi Thar (8), Ni Gaung (11), Nyi Thit (67), U Thikar Rang (57), Daw Samitharee (67), Daw Kumari (63), Daw Oo Mar (48), U Kumar (71), and U Kiri (71). The injured included 4 children, 7 men, and 5 women.

In addition to the civilian casualties, the bombing also damaged a futsal field and 11 civilian homes.

On October 20, the military council bombed the Myoma market in Mong Ngao, killing two locals and wounding two others. The market was also destroyed by fire.
