The Terror Military Council Bombs Mangli Village Three Times

The Terror Military Council troops bombed Manli Village in Namtu Township, which is controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), with a jet fighter and two 500-pound bombs.

There was no fighting in Manli Village, but they bombed the village twice in the early morning of June 12 at 1:10 am and 1:17 am, damaging a building at the monastery, school buildings and some civilian homes.

A woman from Mangli village said, “Today at 1 am, two bombs were dropped. The first bomb was dropped on the spot where our teacher was killed. I shouted to the whole village to stay away from the village for a while, because I was afraid that they would come again to bomb us. Our houses were also hit, but no one was hurt. I must say it was lucky that the monk was in another village, and the noice was going to the toilet, so they were not hit.”

That local woman told the Ta’ang Women’s Association that the villagers of Mangli village are currently taking refuge in the farms on the mountain and villages around, fearing of more aerial bombing.

On December 29, 2023, the monastery and school in Mangli village were bombed without any fighting, and several buildings in the monastery were damaged. A TLEC teacher was killed.

In addition, on January 10, 2024, the school and some houses in Mangli village were bombed again by jet fighters.

Although there were no civilian casualties in the third bombing, it reportedly caused additional damage to some of the monastery buildings and the school, which had been damaged in the previous bombings in 2023 and 2024, and renovated.
